In January 2007 it was announced that a film would be created based on the series. Fans were able to promote the making of the movie by visiting the official Maximum Ride site. It now has been confirmed that the Maximum Ride movie will be based on the first three books, instead of only the first. Amy Rose was chosen to portray Max in the national commercial promoting the third book. It seems to still be unknown if she will portray Max in the film or if the film may be animated. The movie may come out in late 2008 or early 2009, though this seems unrealistic now.
