Is there a new "Dune" film in production?!

Remakes and remakes and remakes. I am getting tired of hearing about so many, and so unnecessary! The one that made me angriest is when I found out last week that "The Day the Earth Stood Still" is being redone. Worse yet...it's with Keanu Reeves as Klaatu! GRRRR!! One of the best science fiction classic movies, and they remake it with Surfer Guy. Yep, it's listed on IMDb too.
God I sure hope so. Dune is the best movie ever. They should get Kyle Mclaughlin to play Paul again.
According to imdb.com a new Dune movie is set for 2010. It is in development and no more info is provided.
yeah there is talk and certain people (unknown) are trying to make it happen. peter berg is lined up to direct it.

i saw something on tv, it was a cross between dune and tremours, the special effects didnt look that good
That's interesting. They only just re-made it recently (in 2000)as a TV mini-series.
