I just watched willy woka last night.
I did notice that in the new one there was nothing about charlie drinking the fizzy drink that made him float to the ceiling and he had to burp to get back down.
There was nothing about testing the kids to see if they would release the secrets of the factory using the everlasting gobstopper (charlie returns it to wonka in the original movie). Only charlie and his grandpa rode wonkavator in the first movie while Mike TV got to ride it in the new one.
Varuca was called a "Bad egg" in the first when she wanted a goose that layed the golden egg, and a "bad nut" in the new one.
and the oopma loompas were horrible and annoying in the new movie!!! and Johnny Depp was creepy
Besides Johnny Depp completely destroying the character of Willy Wonka, not to much...
They tell the same basic story, just with more flash backs to Wonka's past. And how he has this stigma with his father, a dentist of all things.
If you have read the book: Charlie and the Chocolate Factory is a much much more accurate depiction. While the earlier movie Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory, leaves elements cut out.
I enjoy the older version more, as the Oompa-loompas in this new one, as well as most of the actors, just seem annoying and not as good as the originals.
Willy Wonka was a great movie, well acted and with a moral story about Charlie and his grandfather. Charley and the CF was a poorly written copy and was centered around Wonka and not Charlie. Depp was totally unbelievable, being neither funny nor admirable, but wierd, strange, and even slightly twisted. Though they were the same story, they were nothing alike!
the old one is the best jonny depp does not play the role of willy wonka very well
I think the first one was way better than the newer one.
