Who Has Seen The Movie Sweeney Todd?!

Question: I loved it, but I suppose I'm a musical person. And a horror person. And a victorian culture buff. And a Burton fan. And Depp. And Bonham Carter. And Rickman. And it was amazing, which helped.
It breathes a new life into the musical, you can see the emptiness of Sweeney, the love of the abused Lovett, the innocence fade from Toby, Johanna, and Anthony.
While the musical portion throws people off, fans and newcomers alike, the voices of the actors I feel adds a relatable feeling to the characters. Makes them everyday. And some of the songs are turned quite simply to dialogue (or in the case of The Letter, to a single shot of Sweeney writing) to keep the not average musical fan a little more happy.
It has Burton written all over it, but it has it written in the form of a tribute to the horror movies of old, where the blood was fake looking, the characters were well developed, the victims weren't teenagers, and you couldn't count on the good guys to win.
I'm going to draw to a close now, as to continue this may just turn into a giant fan-squee.

I have, it's really good. Though, it's not too everyone's taste!

I saw it ? it's awesome
....alot of the songs/singing is beautiful, which greatly contrasts all the blood and gore

I've seen it. A great musical movie. It was so dark and creepy! Just a masterpiece! :]

I have it was great. just in case you missed it it's coming on double disc April 1 2008.

I Saw It!!! And absolutely loved it!!!! I Loved Johnny Depp as Sweeney Todd, but I didn't necessarily liked Helen Bonham Carter as Mrs. Lovetts. I must admit I liked the original play better with Angela Lansbury. Angela Lansbury was born for that role. And the blood and gore was a little bit extreme in the new movie version, but other than that it was good. All in all I give it a B+.

I have and I loved it. It's currently my favorite movie. I thought Johnny Depp and Helena Bonham Carter were amazing.
