Why do they change the movie title of a film after it has been released?!

Question: I have been looking out for one of my favourite films, Stockade, on Sky. After flicking through the channels last night, it was on one of the movie channels, but was called 'Cadence'?? This really annoyed me as I don't know when this will be back on.

Also, another film I loved was called 'Adventures in Babysitting' with Elisabeth Shue, which was re-named to A Night on the Town?

Why do movie makers do this?

Sometimes it's an attempt to make more money on a movie that wasn't successful in its original release. For instance, the 1983 movie "The Creature Wasn't Nice" starring Leslie Nielsen was later retitled "Naked Space" in an attempt to attract the attention of fans of Nielsen's "Naked Gun" movies.

Last minute desision

they do this because they do not want the public to know about the film before it is release. most movie producers do this to keep the film more secretive.

they change the title depending on where it is released. films have different names in america and england - the madness of king george III was called the madness of king george in america because the film makers thought the american would think the first title was a sequel

Different countries sometimes have different names for it.
