Way overdue! Major Trekkie here. As always I look forward to anything that has to do with Star Trek.

no sounds rubbish
I wouldn't say I was excited, just intrigued to see what they do with it.
I'm cautiously excited, because:
+ J.J. Abrams is at the helm. He's done consistently great work, both on TV and Movies. Also Trek tends to benefit whenever they bring in new blood to re-energize the franchise, such as when they brought in Nicholas Meyer for Trek II.
- It's a prequel of sorts, with new actors playing the iconic characters of TOS. I'm not sure I'm ready to accept that.
+ The teaser trailer looks great, the ship looks awesome, and the voiceovers of the history of the space exploration program were inspiring.
- This is an odd-numbered Trek film. And you know how THOSE tend to go.
I'm not a trekkie, but my boyfriend is and his enthusiasm has caught on, so I'm looking forward to it. I just want to see Simon Pegg as Scottie or whoever.
Saw a teaser trailer for it before Cloverfield the other day and it looks good!
not a trekkie, but the cast and even the trailer where they are building the enterprise rocks. After those last couple of movies sucked it will be nice to see the series get a fresh start
