What do people think of the 1987 movie "Blood Diner"?!

Question: Was it constantly funny, or did it try to hard at some points. What did you think of the casting job. And was it too bloody?

...well, there were certain points in the film, as macabre, gruesome, gory and bloody as the film was, where it appears that they're going out of their way to intentionally push the punch line, and trying to squeeze as much laughs out of certain scenes, but that's what was fun about the film; it was almost like watching one of those old vaudeville stage comedies, where in trying to push the threshold of humor as far as one could go, you almost can see the performers look directly at the audience, as if physically saying, "...laugh, come on, laugh", and you do, because part of the humor comes about through the performers trying to intentionally stretch that threshold of humor, as silly and as stupid as it might be. Many a time, during the film, you will find yourself laughing as something so incredibly dumb...

...as far as being too graphic, gory and bloody, once again, that's where the humor comes about; depending upon the storyline, the more gruesome and gory a scene is, the more outrageous it seems to become....almost comic bookish. It is for this very same reason why George A. Romero's classic zombie opus, "Dawn of the Dead" was so good, in that particular venue; the more blood and gore that was splashed, the more outrageous the premise became, hence the ensuing humor...

...of course, let's not forget that director Jackie Kong's film was, forst and foremost, a loving and embracing tribute to the films of the great Herschell Gordon Lewis...the original Godfather of Gore, himself. His films also exhued an outrageous level of graphic meyham and violence, albeit on a much more humble budget, which of course, amplified the outrageousness of the proceedings, in his films....

...I eagarly wait, with bated breath, when someone finally decides to pick up "Blood Diner" for DVD release; that will be a great day!!!
