What movie is this obscure scene from? Please help!?!

Question: It has a scene where someone (possibly a woman) is talking to a man and orders a soldier to slide down some sort of blade and onto some spikes to show how loyal her/his troops are?

Really obscure, not gory, maybe early 80's? American.

Myself and a friend remember it but we cannot place the movie!

I think this was maybe a scene from a film that Vikings were
looking for a golden bell, starring Sydney Poitier as the ruler and Richard Widmark as the Viking leader.
The name of the film was The Long Ships.
and i think they called the slide Mary.

Why does this sound to me like the Movie Blade Runner? 1982, American starring Harrison Ford set in the future. It did poorly in the box office in America, but well overseas. However I could be wrong on this...

The Long Ships (1964) with Richard Widmark.
Film known for a torture contraption called the "Mare of Steel" depicted as a huge curved blade as large as a Trojan Horse, which unlucky prisoners were forced to climb and ride down on their exposed bellies, hands tied, splaying them open at it's base and impaling them on a bed of two foot steel spikes.

Yes it's called The long ships.

Thanks Guys (Seriously...) I love Viking films... I aint got or heard of this one.. (I'm gonna buy it...)...Cheers..
