There are no horses, no guns, no shootouts, it takes place in 20th century California, not 19th century Texas.

Yes, it's western-like. It's an old-west feel to it, as in setting.
Well, you can always keep your movie movie and save it for another day. There are lotsa movies out there today and one can never runout of alternatives. And yes, I think it's a Western...never seen it myself though
