Every time you watch the bridge on the River Kwai, do you wish the end would cha!

Question: I hope i have the right spelling.

Answers: I hope i have the right spelling.

not really, alec guinness portrayal as the CO knew he had a job to do as did the special services men sent to destroy the bridge. if i was an oc in charge of men forced at gunpoint and starvation to build a bridge for the enemy i'd do the same. nobody could have played it better than alec guinness. in the russian gulags prisoners were forced to build external walls, great pride was taken by the men in being the first to complete even though they were starved and freezing to death. the outcome was they knew they were going to die but they done the best job they could, not for the state not for country not for any president or prime minister but for themselves. although i havent seen military service, as a labourer i've dug service trenches with a shovel 3 foot deep stood back and admired my work only to have them back-filled in the next day by a digger!. i had muck and water down the inside of my boots for 3 days. but at the end of the day i still got paid even though there was no physical evidence. japanese prisoners of war and prisoners in gulags wernt so lucky. but they still had pride and dignity.

no, it's the right ending.

I love that movie, has astrong message, if you going to do something do it right. Sad ending though

Anyone who watches this film more than once is a real saddo! The pity is they weren't all killed at the beginning! The real sad thing is that the film makers didn't stick to the real story, there is enough of a story in the real facts without making any up.

You know in real life the bridge was never destroyed

Jings, that's one of yon Sunday afternoon films that I usually conk oot tae. I think I huv only seen the ending once or twice. Apparently it isn't the true story but one made to sell tickets at the box office many moons ago. My other sleepy film is The Great escape!!!!

If you read the book, you GET a different ending!

its legend of a movie,it doesnt matter how many times ive seen it,its great-i know wot you mean :(
