What film had the most surprising ending...?!

Question: I really liked 'The Others' and also 'The Sixth Sense'.

Answers: I really liked 'The Others' and also 'The Sixth Sense'.

Hi Robert. I also liked both of these eerie films. I recently watched a film called 'The Forgotten' on TV which was equally eerie and had a surprising twist in the ending. When I was describing it to somebody I described it as being on a par with 'The Others'.

If anybody else watched it....did the bit where the police woman got sucked away make your skin prickle? Blooming spooky or what!!!!!

et

the latest one ive seen which suprised me at the ending was atonement. nice little twist there

i was quite suprised with million dollar baby, before i watched it i had my thoughts about what was going to happen and when i did i was totally shocked and really suprised at the ending, the movie does not have your typical cliched happy ending and i thought it was so sad but i absolutely loved that movie and the ending made it perfect, i wont say just in case you want to watch it and havent yet, but if you have then you will know what im talking about... so sad it made me cry

Saw

My favorite is probably The Skeleton Key

The Usual Suspects

Jacob's ladder.

"The Game"

"Saw"

"Hide and Seek"

Agree with you on The Sixth Sense was also surprised at the end of Dead Man's Shoes.

The Departed

1408!!!! how weird but kept me on the edge of the seat!!!

Actually...High Tension...but not for the reasons you might think...

High Tension is ALMOST a complete and total rip-off of a story by Dean Koontz called "Intensity"

My husband and I watched it and, scene for scene, it was identical to the Koontz story except for the very ending. And since I don't mind spoiling this one for you since the guy so OBVIOUSLY stole DK's story and shouldn't profit off of stolen material (and hopefully discourage others from sepnding money to watch it thus allowing this guy to profit even more [I watched it for free])...the killer truns out to be the girlfriend that the rich girl brought home for the holiday. She snapped and killed everybody but up until the very end, she believed it was some other man...she could actually see this other man but he turned out to be all in her head.

Even the title is almost a rip-off...Intensity-High Anxiety...closely related anyway...this guy said he "dreamed" this story...yeah...after he watched the mini-series based on DK's book!

Se7en....... 'What's in the box?'

The Usual Suspects
Mullholland Drive
Derailed

and The Wizard Of Oz - who would have thought she dreamt the whole thing!

Saw.. all of them except for #4

the movie was NEXT can,t remember why !

There are probably others with more of a surprise ending, but right now the one that springs to mind is "Below".

Hot Fuzz and Shaun of the dead have surprising endings, but you have to thick to think that Edgar Wright will die at the end of each movie, so, I think that the award for most surprising movie ending goes to...
Edward ScissorHands!
Really sad!!!

I agree with Usual Suspects and The Sixth Sense

fight club
the number 23

The Sixth Sense, Saw and Scream. All my mates guessed who it was in Scream about half way through the film, but I was totally shocked by it

i am legend was a bit of a surprise at the end

i was a bit surprised with the ending to i am legend i thought will smith would of gone off with the lady and her son and saved himself.

I didn't forsee the twist in Hide and Seek, so I rather enjoyed that.
Also, Black Book, definitely didn't see that coming, what a shock!!!!!!!!!!!!

The original Planet of the Apes.

However, the ending is so widely known now, it's lost its impact a little.

The Wizard of oz ....who could have imagined he was person of restricted growth

when i saw Ur message i thought of the sixth sense, when i went to reply... there it was. i also thought "the green mile" ended differently than i thought it would. Xx

"The Long Good Friday" has a juggernaut ending which you should see coming but don't. Give it a whirl.
Sorry, but I guessed "Sixth Sense" correctly about ten minutes into the film.

the others
i sooo woznt expectin that endin . . . .
love it

oo & all the saw films
i woz well shocked
xx

i loved saw and the others, but sixth sense???? come on people surely you're not that gullible, i had that sh*t worked out in 5 minutes and ever since then iv been able to predict the twist in every m night shamalamamamalam movie since. the guy is a moron. he couldnt write "f**k" on a dusty venetian blind.
