Yes, 'Brokeback Mountain' by Ang Lee first comes to my mind when I hear best movie ever. It's beautiful.

The Wizard Of Oz!! I saw it many moons ago when I wiz a wee lassie and can still watch it today, even though I'm middle aged. It is the only film that I huv watched that gies ye a feel good sensation....
this is obviously going to be opinion, you'll never find 1 movie that even 50% of people believe is the best EVER movie. There will be people who dont like ones that others have mentioned, there will be ones that you might not have seen, there will be ones you may have forgotten about, e.t.c.
I don't have an opinion on just 1 film being the best EVER made, different genres are made in differnt and really cannot be compared. The real answer you will get off most people is what is their favorite film. unlike me my favorite film is Back To The Future Part 2 even though i think part 1 is better.

the good the bad the ugly, completely the best, it has a few different music,whic suit according action,and clint eastwood,lee van cliff, and tuco (sorry cant remember actor is name- i mean the ugly) was wonderful performans, this one is the best, i never fed up waching it.
There is not such a thing as the best of anything be it paintings, books, musical pieces or just anything else.
What's best depends from the tastes and point of view of an individual.
As the proverb says "Comparisons are odious". In fact as far as I am concerned they are totally pointless.
Suppose that you form a judges' panel to decide which movie is the best that it has ever been made, they will choose one. If you change the judges' panel they will choose another totally different one.
Anyway of the spoken movies my favourite is Fellini's Amarcord.
