What is the most tense scene that you have watched in a film?!
Question: For me its got to be the russian roulette scene in The Deer hunter. They load the gun with more bullets to kill the guards and escape.

Cliffhanger, where Stallone has to hang on to his buddies girlfriend on the wire. I was holding my breath. ( she drops ya know, eww awful!!)
After that , I got out of the house!

The scene in "The Abyss" where Bud and Lyndsey are trapped in the sub, it's filling up with water and there's only one tank of air. The scene gets worse when she tells Bud that he's got to let her drown an they're just waiting for it to happen!
Tale of Two Sisters, where you just *know* there's going to be a little dead girl under the sink and the jump takes a year and a day to *happen*. It's not as downright creepy as it is tense for me.
i don't watch a lot of horror movies , but i thought it was a scene from "The Grudge" where the deadbody of the lady ghost her eye was bloody that was kinda creepy

I thought the scene in 'The Silence Of The Lambs' was really scary when Jody Foster was in the basement in the dark and Buffalo Bill was following her with his loaded gun and wearing his night vision goggles. Great exciting scene in one of my favorite thrillers.
I agree with Woody B. The Abyss is an outstanding movie...one of the best I've seen...and the scene he mentioned is harrowing...but it's only one of many in that movie.
One of the more harrowing ones in that movie was when Benthic Explorer lost the crane...the crane went down and almost landed on Deep Core...that would have been bad. As it was, the crane almost pulled Deep Core over the edge...into the abyss.
