What do you think about movie `The Golden Compass`?!
Question: I`ve watched it today, and I think it`s very good, but only with visual effects. It follows the book, but not in all details. For example, the church. It`s just touched as a Magisterium. What do you think?

disappointed, for me it lacked depth, any kind characterisation. characters did things but there wasn't any motivation in their actions at times. it seemed quite shallow to me and i don't feel the visual effects were that brilliant but they did do a good job of realising the world. it just felt to me that they over-simplified the text in other to make a blockbuster that doesn't require u to think that much, which is fine but only when done well. the ending is abrupt, at that time the film seemed to have its rhythm only to be cut short. i hope that if a sequel is made (which i really hope it will because the films can be very good if they are made well) then they can put aisde all the explanations and just get on with delivering a much improved story
