American haunting-can somebody explain the ending?!
Question: iv just watched American haunting with donald sutherland in,the dvd was scratched and kept skipping bits so i didnt get the whole film.I know theres a poltergise in the house but towards the end it gets a bit weird and now im confused as to what it was all about,was it something to do with the father?at what point did she die?

The ending was that the ghost attached herself to the girl because her father had molested her, at the end he died not by the ghost but by the wife and daughter who poison him because the wife found out that he was molesting their daughter. I am not sure if he raped her or molested her but at the end of the movie, in modern times the ghost appears in front of the mother as to reveal that her daughter is been molested (raped) by her husband. you can watch the end of the movie or the whole movie in the link below.
