...it is indeed a film that's rather hard to...uh, digest, as well as being quite shockingly disturbing, in a visually visceral, graphic and almost compelling way...a movie which bears the old addage of being 'too disgusting to watch, but too compelling to resist'...
...however, underlining the unbelievably graphic and gory preceedings, is a definite message, with regards to today's society, and the state of the human condition...something which virtually all the other Euro-produced cannibal films to follow, barely attempted to touch upon, if at all (...perhaps, with the exception of "Jungle Holocaust", aka "The Last Cannibal World"): Just who was the worst progtangonists in this film??? The cannibals, who despite their graphically unconventional and extreme practices, as well as their penchance for ritualistic vengeance, when wronged; or was it the intruders, comprising the exibition and rescue teams, who teased, tormented and attacked the cannibals...
...in that respect, the film DOES ask us to be the judge...
...if, at the very least, "Cannibal Holocaust" displays a rather unconventional filming style, which obviously influenced the filmmakers of films like "The Blair Witch Project", "The Last Broadcast", the recent "Cloverfield", and the upcoming "Monster" and "Diary of the Dead"...
Yes,it's horrible.Infact,it is prohibited in Europe.I saw once and i was terribly shocked!.The movie/production is banned.
oh yeah. i needed a shower and a stiff drink for a couple days after watching. if santa claus existed, i would have asked him for amnesia after watching that sickness.
Never heard of it, where can I see it, so I kind decide, I love horror movies, but actually killing animals would be going too far, the whole idea is that its supposed to be pretend.
