Has anybody seen any visually beautiful movies?!

Question: I love the look of movies. Its the first thing I notice: How it was shot, the cinematography. Some films I could literally watch with the sound turned down. Films like: Days of Heaven, The thin Red line, Apocalypse now, Blade-runner, Lawerence of Arabia, Chinatown, The mission.........
Has anybody seen any movies with great cinematography, lately or even on some oldies?
Thanks

I was very impressed by Pirates of the Caribbean, Moulin Rouge, Kill Bill, Sin City, Troy, Alexander, 300, Memoirs of a Geisha and The Fabulous Destiny of Amelie Poulain. These movies can be called visually beautiful in my opinion.
I agree with the user who pointed The Untouchables, it's really an amazing movie, Lawerence of Arabia is a classic. I love that movie.

Hero
House of Flying Daggars

narc. with ray liotta. amazing camera work

"The Fountain" directed by Darren Aronofsky, hands down. You can do it with "Sunshine" too, but the lines in that movie are important. "Moulin Rouge" is great as well.

The Blue Lagoon, 300 and Troy. Also Bollywood movies are very colorful too.

Big Fish, 300, The Last Samurai, Lost In Translation.... I'm sure there are more that I'll come up with as soon as I hit 'Submit' :)

i was going to say house of flying daggers, but someone beat me to it. if you haven't seen that - or hero - then you should watch it. some scenes were just so beautiful my eyes couldn't take it! so much color and graceful movement. really great movies for cinematography. to be honest, i don't remember the story or plot, just that the movies were absolutely beautiful.

Pretty much any Stanley Kubric movie is amazing- the colors, shapes, etc. Clockwork Orange, etc

Crotching Tiger Hidden Dragon. The cinematography is gorgeous

I like it when they have historical accuracy as well...
The Untouchables.... the scene where they show a busy Chicago road with all the old cars.... amazing.

Interesting that you have war movies... Platoon is very well shot too, and the beach landing scene in Saving Private Ryan is unforgetable.

Memoirs of a Geisha

the 3 spidey movies.

the notebook... i absolutely love how the colors are in that movie, and how it looks so cheery
"apocolypto" (its not like you can understand them anyway!)
a lot of space movies.

Most beautiful movies, to me:

Fireworks (Japanese movie by Takeshi Kitano)
Seven Samarai (another Japanese movie (Kurosawa))
There Will Be Blood
Clockwork Orange
The Fountain (it was like a painting with motion)

What Dreams May Come with Robin Williams, very cool visuals.

"What dreams may come" is very interesting visually!

Also that new one "Across the Universe" with all the Beatles song is very interesting.

UltraViolet.

Visually it was beautiful

Plot sucked, the movie sucked as a whole

But visually it was beautiful.

The Last of the Mohican's (1992). This movie really had some great scenery and great music. Daniel Day Lewis stars in the movie. I liked it; I hope you did, or will, as well.
