Why do certain young men and bys laugh during ultraviolent scenes in movies?!

Question: I'd say it involves desensitization, reaction formation to fear, insecurity, and sometimes just senselessness and emotional retardation. There's a lot of stupid guys in America, if you've noticed, and movies are being made nonstop to pander to them.

It's how guys are socialized in our culture. Violence, in general, becomes enjoyable and funny. Take a look at the book and movie "A Clockwork Orange" for an example of what I'm talking about, or read about the social learning experiments of Albert Bandura.

A professor I had told a story about going to see "Platoon" when it first came out. He saw it in a theater in New York, and during a scene where a soldier was shooting at a boy, everyone was quiet and grave. But then he saw it at a theater somewhere in New England, and people were laughing raucously instead.

Because the scenes are unbelievable and inaccurate. If you've ever seen what actually happens to a body when it's cut/shot/maimed, you'd probably laugh too.

cause it's sooooo funny...lol... Oh by the way it's not real blood... and they are not real guns, cause you forgot.

I laugh at them too, even though I am a girl. I think it's funny when people get killed in movies(exept for the people I like), but it might be because some people, like me, get entertained easily, and that's just one of those things... plus the fact that it's completely fake:P

im a girl and i laugh during those scenes too. i love bloody scenes and the characters usually deserve what they get.

some uber-violent scenes are just funny - it's not just young men and boys you know. A lot of OTT violence is done for comic effect.

Because it is fuckin hilarious and amusing becuz its not real life and they r so fuckin fake half the time-like if an actor got a papercut then they bleed to fuckin death. Its unbeleivable sometimes
