Is the writers strike over yet??!

Question: Not as of this morning. The writers are allowing the Oscars to come up and go by proving thier stance, but the lawyers are working to put an end to it (on both sides) before the Oscars because that will benefit both sides the most.

Don't worry, when it ends it will be a media spectacle (bigger than Tom Brady's foot).

Officially, no. The WGA and the AMPTP have yet to reach a deal. The AMPTP is the govering body which represents the majoity of studios and networks.

However, the Writers' Guild has signed deals with several indepenent companies such as United Artists, The Weinstein Company and Lionsgate.

Most network TV shows are still on strike -- but "Weeds" has reseumed production as it's produced by Lionsgate. Some movies will go into production with writers, but overall the strike is still crippling Hollywood.

in 2 weeks. I'd put money on it. Heard it this morning.
