Sweeney Todd- The Demon Barber of Fleet Street. The fact that this film is certified 18 made me think that there was going to be horror and gore beyond my liking. However, despite the dark theme and terrifying, disturbing plot i throughly enjoyed it.Johnny Depp and the rest of the cast regularly burst into song softening the horror element of the film. Tim Burton's interpretation of this violent musical is original with the emphasise of the fake nature of the violence providing humour and lessening the horror aspect of the film.
Probably been overhyped..

There is a fair bit of blood, but it looks nothing like the real thing - very fake. Its a musical too don't forget. Worth a look.

Yeah, it was actually pretty gross in some parts. This is coming from someone who doesn't usually mind gore, too.
Sweeney Todd is the best movie i have seen in a long time! its not gory, you'll love it x
Well the first time sweeney slit the guys throat i was a bit queasy but then it just was funny with all the blood spurting all over the place.....it was a sad story though.....
The first 3 films of the same name were , so this re - make should be.
its one of the best films ive seen for ages, its gore is relative to the movie as a whole so if you know the sweeney todd story you will understand it but it doesnt go to far...id thoroughly recommend going to see it.

I haven't seen it but my son went to see it a couple of nights ago. He say's it was extremely gory and although he enjoyed the film, what spoilt it was too much singing.
there is only one part that stick sin my mind for gore, i dont know if it would turn your stomach i quite like all the spec effects.
Just go see it, its not worth missing just coz of your stomach turning.
It's not really that bad. It shows him slitting a lot of throats, but that's about it. The blood doesn't look real, so you should be fine.
Im normally a total wimp when it comes to watching gorey films but Sweeney Todd didnt bother me in the slighest. Theres a lot of blood but thats it xx
Its not as bad as people have made it out to be. Theres plenty of blood in it though. I totally loved it, and I was really impressed with Johnny Depps singing
