Why do movie/film makers insist their leading lady/man is not fat?!

Doesn't sound very politically correct, but people just don't wanna see fat people in love scenes or lead roles. Slimmer people are generally more attractive and we live in a world where beautiful people come out on top. And fat people aren't beautiful. On the whole, people prefer slimmer people, for tv hosts, film roles, air hostesses, modelling, acting everything - even in regular jobs. If someone is hiring a receptionist; they will go for a thinner woman rather than one who weighs 250 pounds. Cruel, mean, shallow? Whatever you wish to call it; it's true.
What about Hairspray? I saw the preview and it was full of fat people.

Because Hollywood is not about reality so every leading man and woman needs to be attractive or studio execs think tickets won't sell.
because there is this thing called stereo-typing, and it is a major thing in hollywood. personally i think that there should be more fat people in movies that include romance.
