Fairy Tales always change to fit the time period they are being told in. The early versions of The Little Mermaid involve her death at the end and early versions of Cinderella include the stepsisters cutting off various bits of their feet to fit the slipper--the puddles of blood warned the prince that they were fakers and their eyes were later pecked out by birds. Disney changed the endings to these stories to reinforce the positive messages they were trying to send to their audience. So in that line of thinking, they may have changed the trolls to friendly dwarves anyway just so that it would be a happier plotline. That said, Disney definitely had a dark side--during Bambi when the forest fire happens, Walt wanted to show the charred, burned bodies of the hunters so that the audience would really learn the consequences of being careless with nature. His staff talked him out of it, because it was too gruesome.

They would have got her suspended/deleted and after 2 days all gone away,,,very boring fairytale,,,lol

I can see getting violated throughout the movie.
