Answers: I just got through watching that movie the "new" one and I don't think there's noway a house can be possessed like that. The texas chainsaw maserca is supposed to be real and look how many times its been changed.

in 1974 robert defeo killed his whole family and in court he stated that evil spirits in the house told him to kill his family. in dec 18 ,1975 the lutz family buy the house and claim that the house was possesed and they left the house 28 days later they made a book deal out of there experiance witch is the movie that you saw the book was later found to be a hoax . the house is currently occupied and they say they have never had any demon attack them

I think it's pretty much been proven that the Lutz's committed a hoax...

Amity-ville horror is "based" on a true story. But, it's probably exagerated alittle. Both of those movies were really good... but Im gunna have to go with Chuck and Larry

I believe it was proven to be a hoax

there was a guy who killed his family in the 70's.......but for all that hollywood scariness no its not real and i'm sure the people that live there would tell you

I'm sure there are some elements that are true but alot of what happened in every movie was fixed

The phrase "based on real events' is generally extremely loose in it's interpretation.

For example, Texas Chainsaw Massacre is based very, very loosely on the real life serial killer Ed Gein. Gein also inspired the movie Silence of the Lambs, which should give you some idea how true to life a movie has to be to be called 'based on real events'.

That would be cool
