How do they nominate and choose winners for the Oscars?!

Question: Is it a fair process u think?

Answers: Is it a fair process u think?

It is fair. Nominees come from their own department. That is, cinematographers nominate other DPs, art directors nominate other art directors, etc. But anyone can nominate a Best Picture.

After the nominees are tallied, all Academy members vote. Since I work in the art department, I can only nominate for that department, the idea being only other people from that field really appreciate what constitutes "best."

Its voted on by the actors/actresses. It's probably not fair, but it doesnt matter, cause hollywood is so corrupt.

nope its not fair

because since 2000 when American Beauty took the oscars from Green Mile, I have been convinced that monkeys must be doing the voting.

it's a rediculous process of self-appreciation and back patting. the most horrifying thing is that they nominate movies for piles of awards....BEFORE THE MOVIE IS RELEASED! how much more "wrestling is fake" blatantly obvious can you get?!
