What's the best 'cult' film you've seen?!

Question: And why?

Who's your favourite director?

I'm a massive fan of 'Repo Man', if anyone else has seen it? Brilliant film written and directed by Alex Cox, probably my favourite director. And I love 'Straight To Hell' - released the day before I was born! Lol (Yeah was born in the wrong decade!). Managed to get a copy of it on dvd here in the UK eventually though.

My all-time favorite is The Adventures of Buckaroo Banzai Across the Eighth Dimension (What's that watermelon doing there? I'll tell you later.), but I love Repo Man, too. Love the film, love the music (I proudly own the soundtrack on vinyl), can never watch it enough.

I got to meet Alex Cox at the Hamptons Film Festival a few years ago, where they were showing his film Three Businessmen (Which never got distributed, sadly). Earlier that same day I had seen a film about a bunch of actors/criminals who were auditioning for a production of American Buffalo, and one of them used Miller's Plate of Shrimp speech as her try-out monologue. He got a laugh out of that.

I also love Big Trouble in Little China, but I may be the extent of the cult on that one.

Rebel without a cause.!!!
James Dean.!!!

Reservoir dogs without doubt

"Army of Darkness"...

I just think Ash is the funniest hero ever from the Evil Dead trilogy...you just have to love him!
"This is my Boomstick"....I love that!

I have heard of Repo Man but haven't seen it yet! People speak great of it. Is it cool?

I will always love Sam Raimi. I know he wrecked himself by doing the mainstream Spiderman movies but he created my favorite cult films and he will always be one of my favorites.

Edit- Cool, I will check it out. Thanks!

Donnie Darko by Richard Kelly
My favourite director has and always will be Tim Burton, simply because the man is a gothic genius and the films he makes don't appeal to the masses. He makes movies that he loves and dares to be different

Boondock Saints! fabulous! It was never even released into theaters because of tension with the stereotypes. but has gained a mass cult following anyway. Brilliant film, it's a shame it never got widespread release in theaters do to ethnic tensions.

my favorite directors are john waters (A DIRTY SHAME), david lynch (ERASERHEAD), stanley kubrick (A CLOCKWORK ORANGE)to name a few

Donnie Darko

The Crow

definitely A Clockwork Orange. Loved the book and the film.

ghosts of the civil dead is way up there. it is brutal and cut to ribbons but you will never forget seeing this movie - my favorite director is sam raimi xx

Rocky Horror Picture Show

Because it's so bad, it's great and ya getta see a young Susan Sarandon runnin' around in her underwear!

My favorite director is the late great Sam Peckinpah.
