"There will be blood" or "The Savages" - which movie to watc!
Question: Absolutely brilliant films. Make sure you see them both. The Savages showcases the understated abilities of Laura Linney and Philip Seymour-Hoffman. it also is one of those rare true-to-life depictions of average people.
But I reccommend There Will Be Blood. The story is great, and Daniel Day Lewis' acting is unhuman! What a performance. I can't wait for this movie to play wider so more people can see what a quality film is all about.

They are both great. Two of the best movies of the year.
If you enjoyed "No Country for Old Men," "Gangs of New York" or anything with an absorbing but non-traditional narrative, anchored in an amazing lead performance, then go for "Blood."
If you want a small intimate film, full of funny and gut-wrenching observations about human nature, with warm and genuine performances by two talented actors, then go "Savages."
Read up on some reviews of both to see if you'd like them. I can heartily recommend both.
