Have you seen the movie "cloverfield"? I just got back from seeing it,!

Question: I felt pretty dizzy and sick pretty much throughout the whole movie because of the handheld shaking camera........

movie wise, it was ok I guess, I wish the ending was explained more. the tape was obviously found by alive people and they should have explained to what happened afterwards.

Hand-held camerawork never bothers me, but I know plenty of people did unfortunately need to dart for the exits.

I didn't love the movie, but I thought it was enjoyable. The biggest factor honestly that cut down on my enjoyment was the lousy dialogue during the more quiet scenes. I suppose they had the characters saying dumb stuff as comic relief, but I found it distracting. I would have greatly preferred 84 solid minutes of dread. The lead-in at the party was a little too long, I don't think the movie would have been weakened by shaving the whole opening down to 10 minutes as opposed to the 25 or so that it was.

As far as the monster.....I thought it was cool. I certainly wouldn't want to see that thing chasing me through Central Park. I thought the initial attack footage (the Statue of Liberty head, the collapse of the Empire State Building, etc.) was way too lenient on everyone's memories of footage from 9/11, and I suspect JJ Abrams is gonna catch a lot of crap about that now that the movie is being seen widely.

The main gripe everyone is gonna have is that nothing is explained, the audience is really forced to make up their own minds and draw their own conclusions on the monster's origins, and in some ways Earth's final outcome . But I think that's okay....the point of the story wasn't 'What is this monster? Where did it come from?" Since you aren't getting the answers to those questions, you are experiencing the attack as the filmmakers intended....like a clueless victim just fighting for survival. So enjoy the experience for what it is.

Or just wait for the inevitable sequel. *sigh*

great movie. at the ending we're left to believe the two are dead under the bridge after the city is bombed. when it cuts to the coney island ferris wheel clip, you can see a pod/egg drop into the water and splash before it cuts back to the girl. after the credits you can hear a faint voice, his, say it's still alive....maybe a sequel....hmmm

i thought it was really good, but i got grossed out a few times.
I wish the ending would have been like this: they escape in another helicopter or soemthing, and have a view of the monster and then they blow up the whoel city, and the monster's gut or head comes flying at the screen.

Kinda wish they made it out though, cuz after all the went through

But i noticed at the end when they are showing the film on koney island, you see something huge dive into the water, i pretty sure it was the monster!

The whole point of the movie is that you don't know what happens. The story is told from a civilian point of view. So naturally we don't know. But I thought it was great. And yeah, the monster is still probably alive. Though I doubt there will be a sequal. Simply because it was a unique film, and I don't know what they'd do, but it couldn't be the same at all. In a city like that. Maybe the war, but nothing like that. I thought the movie was excellent. I will probably see it again soon.

Hello dude!
No, not yet. The last movie I watched was Rendition.
So, do you suggest that I should catch Cloverfield or not?
