Old(er) Movie question?!

Question: Alright, I've been thinking long and hard on this one for weeks now, but I've come up with squat to show for it. There's this movie, I'm thinking it came out circa late 80's early 90's, and its a sci-fi movie. From what I recall, it involved an airplane that through a storm or something to that affect, somehow went through some portal in time (I think) and that made them likea few hours in the past, where everyone moved on, and time seemed to march in a straight line. From there, they had to find a way to get back to the present before something (I don't remember what it is, but I'm pretty sure the title went by the same name) sort of 'erased' the past, for lack of a better word. If anyone has ANY clue what I am talking about or knows which movie it is, I would be much obliged for an answer. Thanks to all.

Stephen King's The Langoliers (1995 TV miniseries)
aka The Langoliers
starring Patricia Wettig, Dean Stockwell, David Morse, Mark Lindsay Chapman, Frankie Faison, Christopher Collet, Kate Maberly, Bronson Pinchot, Tom Holland, Stephen King

IMDB synopsis:
When Flight 29 flies through a strange aurora in the sky, all but 10 on the plane mysteriously vanish. Among the survivors are a schoolteacher, a blind girl, a machine worker, an airline pilot, a British secret service agent, a mystery novel author, a musician, a drug addict and a raving lunatic. Fearing a dangerous situation in Boston, the airline pilot lands the plane in Bangor, Maine, where they discover to their great surprise that the rest of the planet is also deserted. Now, it's a race against time to refuel the plane and take off, because the Langoliers are coming and they're hungry for some human flesh.

NOTE: "The Langoliers" is one of four novellas in the anthology "Four Past Midnight".

Steven King's The Langaleers. I think that's how it's spelled.

The Langoliers. It was based on a Stephen King book.

The Langoliers...I think it was Stephen King and it was a great book, not a great movie...it was a tv movie

The correct answer I think is Millenium. the info on it is here.

Someone mentioned "Millennium" which is somewhat similar in that it involves planes and time travel (and it's not a half bad movie) but "The Langoliers" is the one you're looking for.
