Anyone else upset over Cloverfield???!

Question: OMG. I was expecting so much from this movie. The whole movie is a big teaser. The monster doesn't even look like anything that they put up on the internet. Sucky ending and beginning and really bad camera angles and shots. The whole movie was taken by some guy named Hun. He was really funny. They don't explain where this monster came from or if we even killed it. I only like the middle of the movie. What are your thoughts??

awww man so they never show the monster????
that sucks.

No, haven't seen it yet.

it was a good movie but they could of picked a better monster because that one was just stupid looking so yes i was a little disapointed.

Yeah because it was done by a little dinky video camera you couldnt get a real good view of what the monster actually looked like.

this movie was so bad

it will probably win Best Picture.

like every other worst movie ever.

Well you all are Spoilers for those who haven't seen yet Boo! Hoo! on you!

I wasn't disappointed... in fact just the opposite and not to be a giant jerk or anything but I like a movie that leaves me with questions. I also think they left enough side clues and references to make you question what happened on purpose.

On a little fun side note, the cameraman was named HUD... which is a takeoff of Heads Up Display. Think video games like Halo or airplane simulators that first person camera view you see is called a HUD.

Also, as to the question of where the Monster comes from... I do agree that they tease that concept, but in a method to make you wonder. When the video goes back to Coney Island... which was filmed by Rob about a month before the attack... If you look to the right side of the screen Rob is shooting the ocean off the pier and there is a very large splash offshore. Is the creature the reason for that? I'd think so since it seemed to crash an oil tanker before it bit the head off the Statue of Liberty.

I agree that we are left with a lot of possibilities. Things like did Lilly survive? Did we truly kill the monster? Even if we did, what about all the lice? What makes the lice bites cause humans stomachs to explode?

Since 'Cloverfield' is a Department of Defense cover name for the 'event' and we also seem to have designated Manhattan Island as 'US - 447'... it would appear that Manhattan Island is a no mans land and lost to the United States; but that there is still a United States.

Anyway, just image for a half second you were involved in an event like this one. You're not the President or an Air Force Commander, you aren't the scientist who grew the thing or the NASA guy tracking the meteor that fell from outerspace... You're not even Matthew Broderick from Godzilla.... You're just one of those people running and trying not to be stepped on, eaten, bitten by the lice, crushed by a falling building or caught in the military's crossfire....

Anyway I liked it but I understand, if you were expecting a monster movie blockbuster type action flick and not a character driven horror drama I totally understand your disappointment.

I loved the movie! It was a good thing the monster looked nothing like the one on the internet, cause that would of ruined the suspence of what the monster looks like. The ending sucked a bit cause i wanna find out so bad what will happen next, how the creature came to be and such.

The only thing i didnt really like was how it was shot in some parts, it was too jumpy...i know a guy was filming the event unfolding....but still. Other then that i thought it was sick as, and would be something i would watch over and over again.
