I could appreciate that loads of talent went into making the movie, but for me there was too much blood and too much music. It was more like an opera than a musical.
I'm sure others will disagree, and they're not wrong. It's a matter of taste.

My friend bought a copy of it when she went to Malaysia for me.. but i won't get to see her until we go see Sweeney on the 24th. So i'll be watching Sweeney Todd and i'll have a copy of it too watch again when i get home.
I completely think it's worth watching. It is classic Tim Burton. Has the same kinda feel as Beetlejuice and Edward Scissorhands and so on. I do suggest that after you watch the movie try and get ahold of the dvd with the actually play on it. It's a 1979 version with Angela Lansbury in it. It's funny and dark and the movie is just all around wonderful and beautifully made!
You should definitely go and see it!!! Tim Burton created anther dark/gothic/romantic masterpiece and Johnny Depp is just perfect (as he always is!) and he can really sing!!! The whole movie is an icredible mix of Tim Burton's dark approach, Johnny Depp's great talent, Helena Bonham Carter's "haunting" voice and Steven Sondheim's beautiful music!!! In one word: magic!!!

You have to see it. It was one of the most amazing movies i have ever seen in my life. The songs were amazing, the acting was amazing, the singing, the camera work, the set, it was all great. It was the most beautiful movie i have ever seen. It's not scary at all, dont let the blood scare you away. I'm a squeemish person but i was completely fine, people make a big deal out of it but i thought there was barely any blood. It was amazing i've seen it 5 times. Johnny Depp was soooo believable..as usual of course
