Myabe you want to check it out and learn more.

300 was from a Graphic Novel which was in fact based on a real Greek Legend.

yep, real battle. most of the names of the commanders are real too.

Yes, that slaughter actually happened.

Yes, you could order one from History channel { the real thing}.It is actually pretty accurate.

There is no evidence of this battle in history only greek legend.

i dont know about the reality of it but i know the movie was based from a graphic novel (comic book) from their i dont know

It was based upon the battle of thermopylae - but the details are a complete work of fiction.

Its claims to historical veracity are dubious at best.

See http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Battle_of_T... - very informative

Yes

This might answer your question. They mention its more fantasy than historical event.

true events yes the were'nt all rambos lol

It is based on the comic book by Frank Miller who in turn *loosely* based it on the battle of Thermopylae which took place in 480BC. If you want historical accuracy, watch the History channels documentary on it, if you want stylised entertainment which is beautiful to look at, dig out the comics and the movie as they complement each other to perfection.

"based" on historical events. yes.

Well, yes and no. The movie was based on a graphic novel by Frank Miller and the book was based on a true historical event, but obviously the author exaggerated a lot.
