What is the monster in 'Cloverfield'?!

that's not what it looks like. its big and grey, walks on four, has front arms that finger look like an alien, but walks on them like a bat on its wings, big teeth, when it opens its mouth reminds me of a snake, has red bubbles on the side of its head that inflate and deflate, and has these parasites it shakes of that kill people that look like the monsters from starship troopers.
The producers of the movie are the real monsters in this case.
It's a lizard type thing like Godzilla, but they can't legally use that name.
J.J Abrams the director of the film was on a trip to Japan where he noticed that Godzilla was still huge and inspired him for his movie so it is assumed its an americanized godzilla. He also pays tribute to the Japanese version of the movie in the trailer where it is said a character is having a party because he is going to Japan.

It is a sea creature, not an alien form outer space, it has evolved from our pollution etc. as far as i know, will find out tomorrow in Australia!
I suggest looking at the posts on the cloverfield threads on IMDB. Many people got to view it tonight (lucky them). Theres many reviews and information about the movie being released. Be careful though, there will probably be spoilers posted.

Well in the trailer you can see lil' Human Sized monsters it looks like killing some soldiers so im not sure but its something huge like godzilla
