Bruce Almighty was a lot funnier (even though Jim Carey does my head in! lol) but Evan Almighty is still definitely worth watching.

I liked both movies. But if I were only to watch one, I'd pick Bruce Almighty. Evan Almighty is more kids film and something I could watch with slightly older kids. I think little ones could get a bit bored with it. The plus side (for me anyway) is that Evan Almighty has much more Steve Carell in it. But then there's the best scene ever in Bruce with Jim Carrey making his character make a fool on himself on air.
Watch both but if there's only one, then go for Bruce.

Evan Almighty was completely awful. The only funny character was Wanda Sikes; the rest of them were cardboard, very dull -- and I think we had enough animal jokes within the first fifteen minutes. Definitely pass on this.

Bruce Almighty was much better, even if Jim Carrey is obnoxious. Steve Carrell's character, although it was the same one, was so much better in this one.

To be honest I was pretty dissapointed with both of them. If I had to choose one though Id have to say Bruce Almighty

I actually didn't like eithe rof them. However, if forced to choose, Bruce was a bit better.

Pros for Evan:
-way less raunchy
-Steve Carell is really likeable (see Dan in real life) and can carry a movie/save it
-special effects
-The lines: Evan (seeing God) "AHHHH AHHHH AHHHH!" God: "Let it out son, it's the beginning of wisdom."
-cool message about the environment and family struggles

Pros for Bruce
-FUNNY
-Steve Carell in a minor role
-The lines: Bruce "How can you make someone love you without affecting free will?" God "You find the answer to that, you let me know."
-The story/concept is funnier.

Bottom line for me: Bruce is better, but get Evan if you have young kids. I say watch both.
