Who cried when Old Yeller died?!

Question: In case you did not know, Old Yeller was a movie about a dog with the same name. Walt Disney made it and the dog died. If you never saw it, did you cry when you saw a good movie and the hero dog died?

Oh my goodness, I bawled! To put it mildly. : P That movie (and book) was way too sad to watch more than once, and even just reading these answers here, it made my heart ache for the kid all over again. I'm a bit of a sap, if you hadn't noticed. : /

I cried like a baby. I still do.

OMG, you should have seen me at EIGHT BELOW. My friends still make fun of me for that one.

All my closest friends know better than to take me to a movie where a dog dies because I'm going to be sobbing my eyes out.

As one pal pointed out, I can watch dozens of humans getting killed in all sorts of bloody ways without blinking but let one dog be menaced, not even killed but just menaced, and I get all stressed out.

I was about 6 when i saw the movie- and i died.
Old yeller was shot because he got rabies, which was tragic.
everyone has to cry with that movie!!

Dear heavens .... I cry everytime I see that movie OR any movie where the animal dies ....

* crying now just at the thought of it .... *
xoxox

i always cry when animals die in movies, i hate it when that happens. they should make a law against killing off animals in movies...

everybody cried when Old Yeller died

That's the old one-liner whenever someone suggests to a man that he's incapable of showing emotion; "Well, I cried when they shot Old Yeller!"

Everybody cries. Anyone who wouldn't cry wouldn't watch the movie to the end, either.

i know the movie but i never saw it

me stupid dog

that movie moves me even today.... like 20 years after I first saw it....

I saw it once years ago and I cried and cried. I felt really down for quite a while. I never watch movies, now, that have any animals getting hurt. It kind of breaks my heart. I try instead to watch movies such as "Good Boy" which was out about 3 years back. It was VERY funny and also perfectly captured the relationships between we who love our pets so deeply. It asked the question, "who is leading who"? and, what kind of world would it be without dogs in it? As for me; I can't even imagine. Love that movie!

Sorry for Old Yeller, too sad and hard for me. I cry enough over all the dogs I've lost already.

I cry every time I watch it. I mean the boy had to shoot his dog. That is rough on a kid. That boy became a man that day. Sad sad.

Me, big time

Everyone in Bravo company in the movie "Stripes". That is the question Winger asked in his pep talk to inspire the guys to drill. Personally it did not do it fo me but if you want to cry. try "Terms of Endearment"or "Steele Magnolias'.

Yes I did.. and if i ever saw it again I would again.
