Can you explain the end of the movie 'One Missed Call"?!

Question: So, in the end of the movie, it turns out that the evil young daughter, not the mom, was the abusive cell-phone ghost. Why, then, does the main character pick up the phone as if she is the ghost? What does her own traumatic childhood (getting burned by her mother) have to do with anything? How does this tie into the beginning of the movie, when the college professor lectures on the effects of post traumatic stress (hallucinations, abuse)?

Watch the original movie. Way better than this one and makes more sense. I got post-traumatic syndrome after watching the american version.

Now you know why everybody is asking for their money back after viewing this movie. They are totally upset that they can't get their time back too. The movie is stupid, frustrating and a total waste of time. I'm Sorry you wasted your money.

I have a better question, what possessed you to pay money to watch this terrible film?
