What's the Roddy McDowall movie where he is killed by an iron fence in his n!

Question: ...I'm not 100% privvy to the filmography of Roddy McDowell, and it's possible that something might have gotten past me, but at this time, I am very hard-pressed to identify a film, starring Roddy Mcdowell, with this particularly graphic ending (...as far as graphic and gruesome deaths, involving a character played by Roddy McDowell, I am quick to recall the incredibly shrinking suit strangulation scene, in the 1973 horror/comedy, "Arnold")....

...however, as far as a character, which is killed by an iron fence spike, at the end of the movie, I AM quickly inclined to suggest the 1964 moody and gothic horror chiller, "Castle of Blood"; in that film, a writer, who had been challenged to stay overnight in a haunted castle, is on the cusp of escaping the castle, which is chuck full of spirits, trying to steal his life force, before the crack of dawn. At the boundaries of the broken down castle, and it's outer grounds and surrounding cemetery, is an encompassing steel fence, with a gate that opens out onto the main road; once outside the gate, where it's safe, the young man breathes a sigh of relief, thinking that he had escaped the horror. Without warning, the steel gate of the fence slams shut, and one of the metal spikes, a number of which are poking out toward the road, impales the young man in the back of his head and neck, and he is left just hanging there....from a distance, looking as if he was just waiting for someone...or something...

...the director, Antonio Margheriti, remade the film in 1971, under the title, "Web of the Spider", and in the film, the ending was reinacted in much the same way, as described...

....unfortunatly, neither of these starred Roddy McDowell, so either one of these may or may not be what you were looking for...

Wait! Is it "Cutting Class"? No, maybe not.

Darn! I just can't recall which it is. I'm fighting the flu, and it has my brain totally scrambled so that all of the movie memories are mixed up.

I'd better throw in the towel on this one. When I'm trying to get to sleep, it will come to me then. That's what generally happens.
