No-one knows and this is basically what JJ Abrams is marketing the film on. There are many sites and Blogs which claim to know but I've had a look into this and I honestly think that the Cloverfield production team have managed to keep it under wraps.

It may look like a production design but it is in fact a piece of speculative fan art!
Oh and the first poster is telling fibs- Abrams has stated publicly that Cloverfield is *not* a Godzilla movie
It's godzilla I actually have a friend working on special effects for that movie and yes me and him are nerds
isnt the movie directed by JJ abrams? if so have you ever seen lost? who know what it is! probably just some figment of our imagination.
I think most people think it will be something very strange and original. in the preview you can see a woman's torso expanding rapidly. Some people have assumed that this means the monster hatches its young inside humans.
No one really knows, despite who says they have friends. So many hoaxes have come out saying they think it's this or 'know' it's this. People probably have been told to leak it's something it isn't just to start false rumors.
JJAbrams knows how to keep secrets. We won't know until it's out. And that's that.
i think it man make like a bio weapon and is is NOT GODZILLA! 1min and 21sec in to this Trailer http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f38JetJmb... u can see a woman explode in a army hospital so maybe it is a bio weapon or the moster is make baby moster useing people like on alien or some thing. the best thing to do is see the movie and then we will find out.
