Why are terroists in movies always from Germany or Russia?!

Question: So unrealistic.

Answers: So unrealistic.

The languages require a serious face and voice to speak that way. A german lady once told me that you can't speak German and smile at the same time. It's how they make the sounds.

Cause the accent is way better
Can you imagine a terrorist from Holland? LOL He'd sound like Goldmember

Their villains (and British ones) look cooler on film and TV.

I think because there is already a preconceived : "evilness " associated with these nations. People are somewhat familiar with the bad reputations the countries have acquired over the years.
Lately it has been Muslim countries associated with terrorism and such but at theses times we are in it is somewhat looked upon as un - PC ( political correctness)

There are also a lot of Arab terorists in movies. In fact, middle eastern actors complain that all they can get are parts as terrorists and assorted villains.

The Germans and Russians are more historic terrorists, going back to the Nazis and the Soviets, respectively. A lot of those movies are either Cold War movies or are movies that bring back memories of the Cold War. (During the Cold War, the East Germans kept harkening back to the Nazis as their ancestors, even if the East German communists had major political differences with the Nazis.)

I have seen a few movies with Latin American narco-terrorists. These terrorists are basicly parts of drug gangs who fight each other and also fight anyone who wants to oppose the drug trade. Yes, these sorts of people are a real danger in places like Colombia. And, as I said, there are quite a few movies which feature middle eastern terrorists, which makes sense, since there are such people (and they tend to be able to tap into vast resources of money.)

If all you are seeing are German and Russian terrorists, that may say something about the movies that you are choosing to see. Of course, it's also possible that the movies with German or Russian terrorists just stick out in your mind, while movies with other terrorists don't stick out so much.

Because they're American movies.
