Jack Vs. Heath/The Dark Knight/Batman????!
Question: Why is everybody going on and on and on about Jack Vs. Heath with this new movie The Dark Knight and who is better????
For goodness sake its not even out yet, and it's not about who's better and who can pull out the best role of the two.
They are both very good, and the two are very different with Jack been comical and crazy, and Heath been dark and sick.
Let's also not forget, the directors are different. Tim Burton 1989 had his version with Jack Nicholson playing not only the Joker, but also Jack Napier (without the makeup) at the beginning. Christopher Nolan 19 years later 2008 has got his version with Heath just as the Joker, not Jack Napier so that is also something different. They also decide how the role is played out and who get's to wear what makeup that is required for the film with plots and storylines.

I agree 100%! I am a fan of both Jack and Heath so I could never choose sides on this argument.

the two roles are so fundamentally different, that it is absurd to me, for anyone to even fathom a comparison of the two actors.
however, if we're basing any kind of judgement on skill alone, i feel heath ledger is definately a better all around actor.
I think it's because people are just sick of Jack getting praise for simply "being Jack", whereas Heath is hardly recognizable.
I really don't care, but did anyone else notice that Heath's Joker looks a lot like BEETLEJUICE?

I'm a big fan of Jack and I liked his Joker, frankly, I don't give a **** about this comparison, they are both clearly two different versions and thus can not be compared at all and most of all, I'm really sick of the people who say Heath is better than Jack, they haven't even seen the movie yet and AGAIN they are clearly TWO DIFFERENT version!! Any director can make the characters act or talk the way they want without staying faithful to the original comic books.
I believe, simply because Jack was the original Joker, in Batman, that he should still be the Joker. I'm really sick of movies having a cast of familiar people in on movie, and then in a sequel, have completely different poeple. it's tiring, and takes away from people identifying with that movie. So, I believe Jack should still be the Joker.
