I have to go with the original, Rugter Huerer pulled off the character with perfection.
It was more original and the scenes where better timed. The new one seemed too far fetched and the actors didn't gell together.
To think about it, the original Hitcher also killed the careers of the movie...so that makes it more of a classic....:-)
Older.
Older is pretty hard to beat.
The original with Rutger Hauer, C. Thomas Howell and Jennifer Jason Leigh is by far the better film! I'm not sure why they ever thought they could do better or even needed a remake!
