Old Horror vs New Horror?!

Question: what do you find Better the old Horror movies or new Horror movies

Answers: what do you find Better the old Horror movies or new Horror movies

There are some good ones sprinkled among the new, but I detest the trend toward films that are more like autopsies! No, those would be vivisections since the people aren't dead! I agree with gory not being equivalent to scary.

So, I enjoy the older films much more and watch them frequently. if you want to weigh them in a balance, I think the older ones would be the winners.

Probably the older ones. These days not many people are affected much by the horror of films. But the newer ones just seem content on getting as much blood and gore on the screen as possible.

they are both good in there own way

I haven't seen a scary horror film come out in over a decade. Gross does not equal scary.

The old horror movies are better (i.e. The Shining, The Exorcist, The Omen, Poltergeist, Carrie, Rosemary's Baby, The Thing, Halloween, etc.).

Old horror. The new ones all seem too dwell on goo.Gets boring.

I like the ones from the 80's like Nightmare on Elm Street. But the new horror movies are so awesome. I think that Eli Roth is a prodigy. The newer ones are way scarier.

new horror movies

Older horror movies. They didn't have as much gore and special effects so they actually had to contain a story, suspense, etc. Newer horror movies all seem pretty cliched; rather than build up suspense they try to shock you with as much gore as they can pack in, and this at the expense of any real story.

Old Horror.Yeah the new ones look more real because of special effects but the new horror don't have that shivering feeling that makes you want to scream every time you hear a noise. The old ones have you on the point of your seat and biting your nails.

One horror I will never forget AN AMERICAN WEREWOLF FROM LONDON.Still scares me...

in both there are really works of art.for example "the exorciost" in 70 s is uncomperample..and the"el orfanato" 2007 is really great horror movie.

I like the older horror films better. When I first started watching horror films, 1978's Halloween was my very first one. Just like it started the slasher films like Friday the 13th and A Nightmare on Elm Street, it also started my horror film addiction. If you haven't already, you should watch Halloween.

Old Horror, of course. They were high on atmospherics and pacing unlike their current counterparts who are besotted with SFX. Plus I totally hate the PG-13 rated horrors (with few exceptions) and the torture-porn flicks (like HOSTEL).
That is why certain J-horror and K-horror are finding appreciation coz' they like to genuinely scare people rather than sicken them.
The one film till date that scares the heebie-jeebies outta me is THE EXORCIST. That's the power of old horrors.
