Which movie is better: The Prestige or The Illusionist?!

Question: "The Prestige" is so much better! It doesn't have to have the whole plot spelled out by someone like Paul Giamatti for one thing.

Why is "The Prestige" better?

It doesn't try to pass off Jessica Biel as someone she was completely incapable of portraying.
It doesn't have Ed Norton.
It doesn't look as if it was filmed through dirty lenses.
It didn't play with an interesting premise then cop out for a dud of a summary.

I watched "The Illusionist" a second time then a third before allowing myself to write it off except for Rupert Everett. He made it possible to enjoy the additional viewings.

"The Prestige" made me want to watch it again, not to test whether I like it or not but because it intrigued me and challenged me to solve its puzzles. The sets, costumes, acting and music are vivid and exciting, far from the drabness that keeps "The Illusionist" at a much lower level.

I was given the opportunity to view an extended excerpt from "The Illusionist". After it was over, I was asked what I thought. Let's just say that, when it finally reached the movie channels, I was hoping that the rest would be better than what I had seen in that viewing. Sadly, it isn't.

Definately the illusionist.

i absolutely love the illusionist, i have heard very bad things about the prestige so i didnt watch it

I think they're both equal because they both seem so similar.

the prestige

I liked The Prestige but it might be because I saw it first

If you actually pay attention to the movie it does not jump around much at all. It is easy enough to follow without it being ridiculously predictable.

The prestige for sure.

The Illusionist, the Prestige (tell you the truth) was the worst movie I've ever seen in my life, and just to let you know, I've seen alot of movies in my life. It jumps from random things, first he's in an abandoned place making a machine, then he's killing someone in a water tank! First he's amazing the crowd with his magic, then he's in jail and he gets hanged! It's so random.

They are different story lines. I don't think the fact that they are both about magic is enough of a reason to compare them to each other.

I personally prefer the story of the the lovers who escape of the crazy powerful ruler. Anyway, just an opinion.

The Prestige because the acting was way better than the Illusionist and it had a better plot line. It made sense to me I connected to it more.
