summer is the best time to go to the movies bunches of kids are out of school and everybody is trying to get out of the heat the companys bring in alot of money
There are two big release times for movies: Christmas and summer.
There used to be one time to release big movies: Christmas.
Then guess what happened. In 1976, Star Wars was set to release at Christmas and had to delay because the film wasn't finished. It was then released in the summer. Since then, the summer has been a big movie release time.
By July '08, everybody is out of school.
So when you see films being released at any other time of the year, these films are not considered big or as big by the studios.
