So if you were him' would'nt you have a little more than an M4A1 rifle, an M67 grenade, and a few Claymores out side your home. I would be holed up in a M1 Abrams tank or a Bradley Fighting Vehicle with a .50 Cal. turret gun, 20 AT-4 Rocket Launchers, and about 50 500-lb. bombs wired outside. And once I found out the road flares hurt them cause of the light from the sulfur, I would of stocked up on Flashbangs or Phosphorus grenades. Also if you could have any vehicle you wanted would you drive a Range Rover Land Rover and a Ford Mustang? I would have a military Hum-V and a Ferrari or Porsche to chase the deer.

Yeah just like he plays golf on the aircraft carrier but he can't learn how to fly a helicopter or plane or something. I mean he had all that time. Read up on it.

About the cars, I think the producers forced him to make those choices...I guess the product-placement worked, you noticed them and got you talking about them...
well, to be frank.
even if he had all you think he should have, he is(was) still the SOLE survivor living in NYC, not including the canine named sam. and since he was all alone, the only human around, having so much powerful equipments serves no better than what he has in the movie.
and with regards to the cars, he had literally all the cars in NYC, just that he chose to drive those two. remember the scene where he took the keys along with his weapons from the closet beside the main door? there was hundreds of car keys inside.
and if i were him, i would not still be alive and talking to mannequins after day 1001.
