The Sure Thing
It is the the ultimate 80's movie.
It has humor.
It has romance.
It has philosophy
It has action
It has show tunes
It has some of the best lines in any of his movies and I have all of his movies.
If I had to rank them the top ten would go like this;

I liked Say Anything. He was so cute in that movie.
1408, because I love how he spends a night at a different hotel in Identity and doesn't learn his lesson and goes to the Dolphin Hotel.
I adore John Cusack. My favorite movie of his would have to be Grosse Point Blank. The quirky, dark humor & his performance just did it for me. Sometimes I lean toward High Fidelity instead, but then I flash on a scene or two from GPB & it's all over. I'm laughing & happy.

Although "Gross Pointe Blank" and "Midnight in the Garden of Good & Evil" are my favorites, there is no moment like John as Lloyd Dobler in "Say Anything", standing outside Diane Court's window, holding his radio over his head while Peter Gabriel serenaded her....
I especially loved films with both John and his sister Joan Cusack like High Fidelity and Sixteen Candles.
My top five John Cusack Films
1) Grosse Point Blank (he was brilliant)
2) 1408 (he carried the movie himself!)
3) High Fidelity
4) Being John Malkovich
5) The Grifters
Better Off Dead. Sixteen Candles is a close second (yes, he was in that movie as one of the geek friends of Geek).
I also enjoyed seeing him in Con Air. Somehow, that character really fit his personality.

Grosse Point Blank was my favorite one. It was the first time I saw him in an adult movie and I thought it was marvelous. His style of acting was perfect for this dark comedy and I thought his supporting cast was brilliant. I love movies that have cool quirky characters and this had them in spades.
Say Anything. When I was a teenager I went to see that movie, and his character in that movie was who I compared every guy that I dated to. I finally found and married a real-life Lloyd Dobler. : )
