Question: At the begining of the movie, Elizabeth took one of the Azteck coins from Will (you know when they were sailing and found young Will floating). She kept it in her room. Why wasn't SHE cursed? I mean, she had the cursed coin, why didn't she become cursed like all of the rest who took something? Please answer

the coins only cursed the ones that took it from the chest in that cave....... like the pirates on the black pearl spent the gold but the ppl who accepted the gold as payment werent cursed..... will wasnt cursed either because his father took the coin from the cave AND THEN gave it to him.....
Because she didn't originally take it.
It was GIVEN to Will, and she took it from him.
That is interesting. It must not have fit the storyline for her to be cursed. Then again, she did not want to be a proper lady, she wanted to be a pirate so maybe she was cursed.

Because she didnt steal it from the chest. The only people who were cursed were the ones who took it from its resting place. Come to think about it, that would probably make the curse worst, when you have to look all over the world for the coins that you spent, when no one has any signs of having it.
Well, why wasen't Will cursed?
Because his father, Bootstrap Bill, gave Will that coin, unknowingly it carried a curse.
So, Bootstrap took a coin, so he was cursed.
Then, Elizabeth took the coin from Will, because she didn't want him to be accused of being a pirate, which in that case, he'll be hung/
Bootstrap originally took that coin. He was the cursed, but at the end, the coin was returned, uncursing him.
So, if you took the coin, and i stole it from you, you'd still be the cursed one.

The people who took the coins were not cursed. The people who gave them away were now cursed but not the people who took them.
BEcause she nor will took it from the chest decteriatly.
I am not sure...I wonder that myself. Guess it didn't fit into the story. Who knows!
I know 11 people have anserde this but im gonna clear this out 4 ya,.,.,..,,. So when elizabeth shows will the coin he says were did u get that,..,,. so will told elizabeth that his dad GAVE it 2 him,..,., and your only cursed when you steal it, but good point on the y wasent elizabeth cursed well thats cus she was not a pirate and in oreder to be cursed u have 2 be a pirate!!!!!!!!!!
