Has anyone seen The Golden Compass and if so was it any good?!
Question: I thought it was just another example of how everyone wants to do a fantasy series as a movie series and how only a few can do it well (narnia, lotr). The books for this series are extremely well written and are very original. The movie was poorly paced and did not develop any characters including the main characters. It feels jumpy, like the director couldn't figure out how to edit it. There were also so many un-necessary changes from the book that it confused me as to why. The ending leaves me wondering how in the world they can faithfully adapt the next two books. Overall 5 out of 10!

It was okay. It was extraordinarily faithful to the book until the ending, in which they cut off the climax. Had the ending been the same as in the book, it would have been quite good, but instead it was a massive disappointment.
Yes, I saw it last weekend. I thought the premise was good, but it's really long and a bit boring. Then five minutes before it ends you realize that they can't tie everything up before the ending, so... sequel. It's based on a book, if you want to check the storie out. If you liked Narnia you might like this one.

Hella m**** f*** yes. Anyone who tells you the story moved too fast is probably too ignorant to understand it at that pace. lol Seriously though, the movie was great! 5/5 stars from me! It was original compared to the other fantasies. I'd say it's more suitable for intellectual teenagers or adults.
I liked it! even though i'm Christian i enjoyed it because my faith is strong! It was action packed and held my intrest!
