What was the point to the movie The Departed?!
Question: I just watched it the other day hearing that it was a very good film, and i come to find out its violent beyond belief. I mean, its like all those A-list actors wanted to get together and make a movie to see themelves get shot in the head, or thrown off a building. The acting was incredible, and some parts were hilarious, but wow, i didnt expect any of it. After 10 minutes, i couldnt predict anything that would happen, it was just so suspensful. I have mixed feelings about it so far, but i wouldnt even show it to my parents.

yea I loved the movie. I think the point was to show the whole good cop bad cop situation and how even the worse people are connected with the cops. I never guessed the ending. great movie
I didn;t like it either. It's point was to give Scorsese a shot at an Oscar because he is getting old. Over all, I hated the movie.
it was a great movie, the point was to keep you entertained which i guess it did. it is just a really good "good cop, bad cop" film
I think it really shows that life is never black and white and there are no real good guys and bad guys. Everything and everyone is a combination of good and bad, even the institutions we depend on the provide justice.
See, I thought it was too predictable and annoying with everyone dying. It was an okay movie to me, I didn't think it was too violent though.
