Does anyone like watching old western style movies anymore?!

Question: Unfortunately none of the few Westerns made in recent years have done well at the box office either in the U.S. or Europe,
and in fact The Unforgiven directed by Clint East wood in 1992 was the last sizeable Western box office hit, and before that most Westerns released since The Magnificent Seven in 1960, and the Sergio Leone directed Fistful films starring Clint Eastwood and also some John Wayne made in the 60s, had also been flops.
Even the totally superb 'The Wild Bunch' directed by Sam Peckinpah in 1969 did disappointing business. Westerns particularly those directed by John Ford, Howard Hawks,
Sergio Leone, Sam Peckinpah and Clint Eastwood continue to be regarded very highly by film critics and cineastes, but I rather doubt that this genre will become popular again with cinema audiences.

Yes, I loved the remake of 3:10 to Yuma.

Yes, my boyfriend watches them and all the old western tv shows like Bonaza, Gunsmoke.

Yes I love western. One of my favorites is Tombstone ( even though its not that old) Has there ever been a better Doc Holiday Than Val Killmer? But I though 3:10 was great. Would be nice to get maybe 2 - 3 more a year. But not to much to where they run it into the ground like they do with every thing.

meeee i love old westerns Clint Eastwood is my favorite cowboy

Yes, I have the complete series of "Wanted Dead Or Alive", and I am working on collecting the entire "Have Gun Will Travel". I would like to have some of Robert Taylor's Westerns on dvd but I haven't seen a lot of them out yet. There is one called "The Law and Jake Wade" that I would like to have.

I actually have a movie channel that only plays Westerns. My dad watches it a lot more than me, but I've seen some good Clint Eastwood movies.

i don`t like anymore

For me its The Good, The Bad and The Ugly.

Yeah the new 3:10 to Yuma was great!

Yes. I have High Noon, My Darling Clementine, The Long Riders, The Ox Bow Incident, Once Upon a Time in the West, and other Classics in my DVD library.

The basic Western still exists. They are called Science Fiction films. Instead of a horse, you have a ship. Instead of a six-gun the lone hero has some modern weaponry. The hero shows up in some place over the next hill that is utterly new to him.

Recently I watched The Proposition, a fine Australian western, well worth viewing.
