Have you seen the movie "Somewhere In Time"? If so, what did you think!

Question: I cried at the end and was very emotional throughout this film.

Answers: I cried at the end and was very emotional throughout this film.

Why is it strange for a guy to ask about a time-travel film? I don't understand her surprise since this film was so successful that everyone must have enjoyed it.

While it differs greatly from "Bid Time Return", Richard Matheson's novel, it's an excellent film that goes on my suggestion lists, whether it's a request for romances, sci fi, or my favorites. I've lost count of the times I've watched this film since it first came to movie channels so long ago. "Somewhere in Time" and "Time After Time" followed each other into and out of theaters and into homes. Both are fantastic time travel movies. I'm not a "chick flick" viewer, but I've seen "Somewhere" end up on such lists a lot probably because it might be considered one of the most romantic films of all time: a man travels through time via sheer willpower to meet the woman whose picture has captivated him. Then, back in the present, he dies of a broken heart, only to be reunited with her, both of them young and beautiful. In the novel, Richard is terminally ill, but dying of love is much more fanciful, isn't it?

The end is a tear-inducer. I readily admit that. Tears of sadness segue to tears of happiness as the two are reunited. Maybe it's that much more poignant because of the tragedy that happened to Christopher Reeve in real life.

The glorious music by John Barry, with its use of the classical theme, adds so much to the film, too.

In short: I love it dearly. It remains near the top of my favorite films list, a bit under "Romeo & Juliet" (1968).

I have seen this film many times. My father loves the movie and I got him the DVD. I love Christopher Reeve and that is what drew me to the movie to begin with. It is a very well thought out movie and like you say...very emotional...especially at the end. It sure does show what "true love" means.

Yes, it was very good and so was the book.

I really love the movie, but can't watch it without a box of tissues and a ben & Jerry's tub of ice cream. Yes I am such a girl, but it IS a very sad, emo, movie! and, BTW WHAT THE HEK IS A GUY DOING ASKING ABOUT SOMEWHERE IN TIME!? lol im sorry that is funny tho.
